Being that Darby was born and raised in Portland, Oregon, it would only be fitting that he would have a deep love for vibrant forests, rushing rivers, and NBA hardwood.

He’s been covering the Portland Trail Blazers since his junior year at Franklin High School, where he took a year of French language classes in order to meet Nicolas Batum. Over the last couple of years, Darby has had multiple Blazers-related articles syndicated by various local publishers.

A rec league regular, Darby will proudly tell you about that one time he almost brought his team back from a 16-point deficit. If he had to compare his game to a former NBA player, he would tell you that his skill set is a mix of Jameer Nelson and Corey Maggette. Try to figure that one out.

From January of 2013 to October of 2016, Darby provided volunteer work as a member of Blazer Gang. He was the Lead Editor, Lead Writer, and Lead Facebook Admin, while investing in business opportunities and filling in on other social media outlets (Twitter, Instagram) when needed.

Darby wrote preview articles covering the NBA for CappersPicks, a sports betting website, during the year of 2015.

During the 2014-2015 NBA season, Darby had various articles syndicated by local sports network giant, Comcast SportsNet Northwest.

Darby joined the Oregon Sports News team in February of 2017. A full archive of his Trail Blazers-related columns published through OSN can be found here.

Darby spends his weekdays, 8:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., working at a Beaverton-based social media management company, Easy Media, as a Social Media & Reputation Specialist.
